May 9, 2016 (SSB) —-  The governor of Jonglei state H.E. Philip Aguer Panyang Jot has welcomed objective criticism from the various media outlets operating in South Sudan and around the world. Aguer made the remarks while hosting the special program organized by Pathuyith community and Jonglei Arts and Music Association (JAMA) to celebrate the re-appointment of Kuol Manyang Juuk as South Sudan defense ministers at South Sudan Hotel in Bor on Saturday.

“I love the media to criticize our government to bring services, improve roads, schools, hospitals and agricultural sector but critism does not carry weight if you do it from 6 am to 6pm,” Col. Philip Aguer told the gathering.

The governor describes the problem of Africa and South Sudan in particular as youth unemployment and attributed it causes as subjective criticism, rebellions and unrests. But he welcomes objective criticism something he described as giving leaders an opportunity to think, decide and implement developmental activities.

The governor also regretted giving powers to the communities to nominate their cabinet and parliamentary representative to Jonglei state transitional government.

He said the SPLM has applied the formula dividing the seats as 3,2 2 for Bor, Twic East and Duk County respectively.

In terms of infrastructural development, three areas qualify to host county headquarters in Jonglei state. The areas include Makol Chuei, Duk Payuel and Kongoor,” Aguer said.

He reminded the people of Jonglei state saying, “it is you to build the house, buy a car, and hire medical doctors and agriculturalist for your counties”.

There we criticism on social media denouncing the modality governor Philip used to share the new seven parliamentary seats among the three counties of Bor, Twic East and Duk Counties. But Aguer said the government of Jonglei state and South Sudan council of states used the 2008 census to determine the seats for each constituency.
