Monday, June 04, 2018 (PW) — South Sudanese publics having been divided over the questionable role of mediating party and subsequent mistrust the division has caused; the regional bloc IGAD that is the mediating party has evidently lost the confidence it needs to bring about meaningful peace deal to the war-torn country.

Principal cause of mistrust in the IGAD mediation is Western backed Uganda and Kenya which previously took a militant stand favoring Kiir’s regime, while other member states recoiled under their sweeping influence.

The unwarranted influence led to IGAD’s premeditated and self-inflicted failure that resultantly ropes Raila Odinga into near impossible task to bring down the Jericho-like walls of mistrust setting the belligerent factions apart.

The herculean task eminently awaiting is without denying former Honorable Prime Minister’s natural gift of tact, optimism and patience forming the bane of any successful diplomacy. (more…)

Tonj youth association welcome distribution of counties in Tonj

Monday, June 04, 2018 (PW) — Tonj youth reacts with shocks and horrors to the recent attacks on innocent children and young people in Toch area in which more than ten people got killed and scores wounded at Alabek_konggor counties of Tonj State in a suspected attacks by militia group allied to SPLMIO led by Dr. Riek Machar.

The communities of the duo counties have expressed shocks and disbelief as they paid tribute to those beloved ones who died in the tragedy. The armed militias made a surprised attacks at night on the innocent children and women.

The whole state more especially the youth and elders of the two counties have been shocked by the death and injury in Alabek and Konggor last Saturday night of which so many children and young people perished in a painful incident. (more…)

Joseph Lual Achuil: A Calm and Pure Leader that frequently falls victim of Deluded Media Warfare.

Monday, June 4, 2018 (PW) — At the outset, I will begin by providing a brief biographical information of Hon. Joseph Lual Achuil as provided by Wikipedia. Joseph Lual Achuil was born in 1948 in Kuajok where he completed his primary school in 1957.

He attended secondary school at Ricks Institute in Liberia and received in 1973 a degree in Business Administration at the University of Liberia From 1973 to 1978 Mr. Lual was a teacher at Ricks Institute, after which he joined the Liberian Ministry of Finance as a senior tax officer.

In early 1980s he returned to Sudan and worked for the Bahr el Ghazal state administration till 1989. In the following decade years Mr Lual worked for the Sudanese Red Crescent Society and the administrations of Gogrial province and Warrap State. (more…)
