Twic East Community in the USA

Friday, May 3, 2019 (PW) — I am very impressed with the current campaigns in the US, I must confess! The gears are on perilous mode as we march towards the finishing line. We’ve seen Twi citizens beyond the US borders, whose participation in these elections is not legally binding, taking serious roles of campaigning for the candidates of their choice. I will not be different from them though I will be scrutinizing the ideals of the two camps; this will assist us in making the right choices when we get to the ballot in July.

Choices have consequences! I believe this is the reason as to why responsible members of our community are racing against time to feed us with the right information as captured in the platforms of the two political divides in this political campaigns. Your agenda is your identity in an election and therefore they’re very right to sell their ideals.

However, Have you made up your mind? Whose platform squarely has the interest of the community at heart? Well, I will not vote, but were I to cast a vote my choice would be loud and crystal clear; I would cast it in favor of LUAL BUL MANYOK! Yes, I mean team ONE VISION!

Friday, May 3, 2019 (PW) — Earlier this year, the National Ministry of Health introduced a harmonized scale named, “Health Workers harmonization Incentive Scale”. This scale is a degrading scale instead of upgrading all the health workers of different categories. It ranges from Medical Doctors to supportive staffs (cleaners & watchmen), the money were reduced to the level that you can even bite the decision maker of this scale with your teeth in case you meet him face to face.

The person is none other then the long serving undersecretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Makur Matur Koriom and the other high position holders in the Ministry including H.E the Minister. The three pages letter was subjected to all the NGOs & NNGOs supporting health services across the state and more especially the non-independent ones getting their funds from Health pool Funds/healthful Funds.

The salaries were reduced into incentives of which these health workers are not Government health workers to entail incentives. Their names are not in the Government payroll/pay sheets and this scale is affecting South Sudanese nationals only excluding the favoured foreigners who are of the same qualifications as the nationals.

Friday, May 3, 2019 (PW) — In Africa, if you want to obtain money by deception from a leader, write a monograph of more than ten pages and put the contents of the deal in page 6 of 11 or 12 depending on number of pages and give it to him not her because ladies competition with men on everything has made them exploit the possibility of a mass readership. Don’t try women, though you are a practised liar.

After you have written it, give it to the target leader. He’ll read the first two pages and the last two pages and ask the bearer of what he might be in need of, instead of going through a cluttered piece with jargons. As the bearer of the letter, just say, “for medication Sir”. The Leader will refer you back to his Private Secretary (PS) or Office Manager (OM).
