Wednesday, July 3, 2019 (PW) — Dignity is the ability to stand strong and tall in the face of adversity while being able to sit with the elderly and crawl with the children. Dignity is taking a stand for your beliefs without closing your mind to other’s opinion. Dignity is being an example by your deeds and through your words avoiding gossip, anger and lies. Dignity will manifest itself in the warmth of your smile, the depth of your love and kindness for your fellowman.

In real terms, election time is the moral gauge, the accountability and evaluation time for the politicians. The implications of the election time preoccupy the consciousness of every politician and it is for this reason that every politician weighs his/her utterances before any audience (privately or publicly), moderates his/her public conducts and mannerisms; and strives at all times to embody the aspirations of the electorate; essentially because each of his/her behaviour is subject to public scrutiny.

The administration of President of the Republic of South Sudan H.E. Gen.Slava Kiir mayardit has secured for itself an unforgettable legacy so much so that long after the government reaches its revitalized agreement in September 2018, the remarkable effort made by the government through the management headed by H.E Gen. Taban Deng Gai will remain evergreen.

Thursday, July 04, 2019 (PW) — When the United States President, Donald Trump and his North Korean ‘peace-ally’, Kim Jong Un were planning for the just concluded historic bilateral summit, the question of venue was a matter of greatest concern. The stakes were high from the point of view of ambience, security and effect. So top political appointees, ranking diplomats and senior intelligence operatives weighed and assessed the suitability of tens of putative locations. These included such serene and high profile European capitals as Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki.

Fortunately, I was privileged to be there as a South Sudanese migrant in all the places listed; few years back and attest that mankind has no better places to live than these. Undoubtedly, they boast of some of the highest human development indices in the world. Geneva, regarded as ‘neutral’ and was mentioned is itself is sort of a second capital for most diplomats. Also mentioned was the Bohemian city of Prague, capital of Czech Republic, with its picturesque setting on the Vltava River and its rich historical monuments tells that it was once the epicenter of European culture and civilization.

Finally, they settled for South East Asian city of Singapore. Why? Because the city has some of the most modern physical infrastructures, exquisite scenic beauty and humanistic values in the world. By all standards, the island state is today considered one of the best places to live by any standard. It is very safe and has one of the world’s most successful economies and social circumstances.

Thursday, June 27, 2019 (PW) — South Sudan has been in economic decline since the late 2013. In this economy, how many South Sudanese live under the poverty datum line? Such a claim supposed to be made by the other opposition political parties to challenge the ruling party, people are taking guns and rebel against their own people. Claim: 3years after independence, 82% of people still live under the poverty datum line.

The World Bank defines extreme poverty as living on less than US$1.90 per day in south Sudan as of October 2015. Prior to that, the global line was $1.25 a day. It was projected that in 2015, just over 9 million people were living in extreme poverty down from 12.8 million, census of 2008.  The poverty line was initially set at $1.  The World Bank also has standards of poverty for people living in middle and high income countries.

Historically south Sudan was a good country in 2010-2012 for living. The country poverty was reduced to 57% but the beginning of 2014 till  now, the poverty rising, four million children live under poverty in south Sudan according to UNCIEF report 2019; Nutrition; 220,700 children aged 5 to 59 months admitted for SAM treatment. 984,700 caregivers of children age 0 to 23 months reached with infant and young child feeding counseling.

Salva Kiir Mayaardit: The Joshua of South Sudan. Grab your copy at Amazon.com

Thursday, May 23, 2019 (PW) —- South Sudan is being inhabited by more than 64 tribes with outstanding sense of valor. They fought for more than fifty years collectively to liberate themselves from persecution, prosecution, oppression, servitude and inhuman marginalization under the successive regimes in the former Sudan. And after the hoisting of the flag in July 2011 with countless applauses and ululation, they thought like to have put an end to unbearable suffering they were enduring and acts this time as masters of their own affair in their blessed nation.

Their expectations by then were very high after they were free at last, their expectations ranged from smooth transformation of their living standards, infrastructural development, establishment of standards schools and health facilities and provision of clean drinking water just mention few. But to their dismay including the friends of south Sudan, their above mentioned expectations were made impossible to be achieves after their trusted leaders did selfishly turned against them.

Currently, majority of our people have deserted the country while others have camped in protection of civilian site (POC) for their safety. They are there not because of their willingness to be but they have no option since the company have unknowing or selfishly defiled all the promises they used to preach during liberation days.  They are antagonizing any opposite views and treat the engineers of these views with cruelty as if we are still under the diabolic regime of Omar basher.

Legitimization of unethical leaking of national exams question papers, and why it is a complete professionalization of corruption in making!!!

By Dut Kuot Akok, Aweil, South Sudan

Wednesday, February 6, 2019 (PW) — We are living in a country where the rate of illiteracy is excessively high compared to other backwards nation, yet, we seldom care about such an essential issue!  We all pursue degree/certificate with the sole purpose of enabling us get luxurious jobs with NGOs or to be accommodate in some powerful Government institutions by our uncles, in-laws or close associates.

This primitive perception is the problem we don’t want to study or understand the true meaning of acquiring education. Apparently, there is a vast difference between education and literacy, realistically, not all literate people are educated if you can thoroughly examine the misdeeds and negative attitudes/behaviors of our so-called educated intellectuals in the contemporary south Sudan.

Hence, the perspective had encouraged a large number of our people with uniform dream of getting a good job after obtaining a degree/certificate. This had entirely legitimized the undertaking of unethical and illegal ways to obtain degree/certificate via malpractice and villainous fraudulent in multiple learning institutions across the country. The practice is the reason the nefarious syndicates are able to take advantage by conducting theirs vested interests in leaking out our national exams questions papers to the children of fat-cat and their close associates. federalism

Do Not Confuse a Camouflaged Call for Confederation for Call Federalism

Thursday, October 11, 2018 (PW) — The outset of the current endless war realistically by then was a competition over the control of the higher office (J1). All the ruling party cadres were eyeing the higher office comes 2015, the storm which started in the liberation council of the ruling party in December of 2013 was over who could be the party flag bearer if elections were to had taken place as scheduled in the interim constitution of the nascent state.

Their bodies’ languages and moods starting from the top hierarchy to former deputy, former secretary of the ruling party including the widow of the late hero were so fearsome with possible indicators of skirmish. Their inflammatory spirit of no reverse and compromise were unfortunate thus the symptoms of awaiting endless abyss were crystal to all of them.

Their competition over the control thereafter led to unforgettable and heartbreaking explosion of nascent state and subjected her unaware masses to untold suffering, destitution and destruction of theirs lives and properties since 2013 up to date. And without exaggeration, the problem of south Sudanese were centered around the throne dating back to 1960s when they were still guerilla with no political constituencies to fight over. (more…)

Dinka and Nuer

Dinka and Nuer under one nation, one people

Thursday, May 24, 2018 (PW) —- According to sociological perspective, the word ethnocentrisms refer to tendency to view one’s own culture, tribe, section or clan as superior. It can make any type of compromise or borrowing between individuals or tribes difficult or even impossible for the reason that, each and every person perceived that their tribe or section as omnipotent and superior particular in the distribution of state resources. Currently, south Sudan is comprises of valor tribes who are all good in physical confrontation , threats of human life, used of abusive languages toward others and inhuman killing with impunity since others are intentionally and selfishly said to be above the laws since the possess state power.

There is nothing called sorry in south Sudanese societies since we are all hostile toward each other we perceived to be our direct enemy, we have abandoned our Nationality and camped behind our respective tribes as our everlasting shield in which we engineer our political decisions and actions to satisfy the interests of few who seem like to have been weaned using public resources for their own. Always, for smooth prosperity of any society according to sociological school of thought, there should be diffusion between different tribes whether in materials or non materials objects. (more…)

tribalism in rss

February 18, 2018 (SSB) — Since 2013 up to date, South Sudan has been occupied by a socially transmitted disease called tribalism brought about by those who pretend to be believers every Sunday and Friday while they are the very people who promote and preach tribalism whenever they leave their places of worshipping. It is due to the above practices that forced me to say such illusive conjecture; I termed it illusive conjecture for the reason that the existence of paradise and hell in heaven has no tangible substantiations that can clearly testify their existence.

But to avoid bringing myself into loggerhead with the creator, it is better to take it the same way we were taught to believe in the controversial resurrection of Jesus Christ according to the teaching of the Bible. And as such, let me hope that one day there will be a special place in hell for tribalists who are busy turning heaven and earth in order to demolish our milk and honey nation called South Sudan due to their individual self-interest.

Telar Ring Deng

Telar Ring Deng, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Sudan to the Russian Federation

February 7, 2018 (SSB) — The easy and quick way of eliminating anyone you see as a threat to your being in the government is to simply label him or her as a rebel in South Sudan political arena nowadays. It is being used by the hijackers of the front seat in the current government of president Kiir and it has yielded fruitful outcomes to the best of their appetite of which the unbelievable elimination of the engineers of the current government since the ascending of President Salva Kiir Mayardit to the presidency.

Who knows that the likes of Telar Ring Deng, General Paul Malong, Barnaba Marial and perhaps Michael Makuei could be controversially dismissed and humiliated thereafter via the unsubstantiated allegations of a dusted hyena in the middle of elephant calves?

It is worse mentioned that we are currently dwelling and acting on hearsay rather than to intellectually make the eclectic approach in executing political decisions. It is of great paramount to makes introspection judgement before bringing or rushing them to the spotlight for public consumption if we are genuine about peace and Tranquility restoration to our beloved nation that has been torn apart since the onset of the current meaningless war.

A young South Sudanese girl poses with the flag of South Sudan

January 5, 2018 (SSB) — It was in mid-December of 2013 when our beloved and blessed nation was innocently flared into what commentators and political analysts termed as a selfish war of interest and positions within the ruling party. This current and continuing humiliating war of thrones that had subjected our masses thereafter into untold suffering and servitude have no tangible objectives and meaningful glue of engineering it since the very people who were finger-pointing themselves after they all failed to handle their internal affairs in their private house and ran amok disgracefully were part and partial of a company who failed to do any convincing developmental activities.

Thus they received a lot of money from donors’ countries and fifty percent of oil money granted by the wealth-sharing agreement of 2005. They were the same cadres who illiterately and selfishly failed our people and subjected them into the current state of backwardness, miser-ability and beggar-hood owing to their poor performance, lust for money and power, illiteracy and lack of zeal and patriotic spirit to prosper the nation they fought for more than forty years collectively as comrades.
